So the plan to stay with my Mom round the clock has been kicked into gear. Starting tomorrow evening, at least until we are sure she isn’t a flight risk (not as in literally flying) and not even driving because she no longer has a driver’s license or a car BUT in that sure doesn’t keep her from finding someone to be sympathetic to “take her away” or even take to the woods. Tomorrow evening after I full day in Bloomington, the attorney representing her for her Medicaid and us on the Guardianship will be following me out to her house to “serve her” with notice of the hearing on Friday afternoon. How she will react is anyone guess but we are concerned about her taking off, so at least until the hearing is over (and probably afterwards) it will be necessary for someone to stay with her. Her house needs SOOOOOOO much done to it if it is going to hold another person round the clock. Lots of it are things like moving beds, securing exits, etc., so the person that is with her overnight can at least try to get some sleep. UGH.
My newest quilts were HITS. One to Alicia’s new baby, born this morning. Scarlet. One of my Sing Your Song quilts to my dear friend Sharyn and the third one to my great niece Hope. Everyone LOVES their quilt. I have squares ready to start sewing together for my next one which is another donated quilt and will go to a service member family who have lost a loved one. Then I need to work on three tops. Two baby quilts for possible sale and the third one for Eli and Courtney’s wedding present. I also will be working on my English Paper Piecing during the time when I am spending the day(s) with my Mom and will (might) have it ready to start putting blocks together by late summer or early fall. Since I will be hand quilting it and it will be on my lap, even if I make extremely good progress, I probably won’t want to start quilting until the weather cools off anyway.
John is driving today and so far, this is the only day this week he has on his schedule. I need to get documents sent to his computer this afternoon that I might need for the Guardianship hearing on Friday. I also need to check with Dr. John to see when/if the letter was mailed and figure out if I need to go on Wednesday (hopefully Mommy will be with Bert) to pick up a signed copy. This week is going to be a traumatic but hopefully FAST one and I should know by Friday afternoon if we are going to get to make a trip to the Beach in the next couple of weeks. If we go next week, I will need to have started my packing so we can be ready to leave on Saturday AM.
More later………………..
